Welcome to the new Tetra forum.

A forum is a very new area for us - this whole site is essentially brand new, although we used the existing Tetra web address. It is still a work in progress, and I'm still doing fixes and adding new items to the Tetra Devices database

So I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Matthew Wild, I handle communications for the Disability Foundation, of which Tetra is one of six affiliated societies. It's an interesting and varied place to work - particularly because every single society is unique. Everything was founded to provide a service that did not previously exist.

I started off here as national program coordinator for the Tetra Society, but I was moved into a more general communications role. . . well, I'm an ex-journalist, and much better at the media side of things than coordinating anything. I'm very close to Tetra - it's something I really, really believe in.

If you feel so inclined, feel free to post below, introducing yourself. Feel free to ask questions – about anything. As far as I’m concerned, there are no rude questions, only rude answers (but don’t worry, I’ll be polite!)

Oh, and I should add that due to constant spamming, any supposed "introduction" from a forum user that contains a link - or other direction to a website - will be deleted.

I'm getting a whole load of "Hello. . . looks like a place I can be a part of. . ." but with an attempt to link to some website burried somewhere in the text.

This does not mean forum users are banned from mentioning other sites, blogs, etc. Far from it. It does, however, mean that anyone mentioning a site out of the context of the thread will find their post deleted. For instance, I would welcome a thread discussing adaptive equipment suppliers, or a similar issue, that is full of links to legitimate dealers. It's just that I'm attempting to keep this site free of porn, party poker and payday loans.

I am not trying to be heavy handed - so, please, if I delete a genuine post, pm me or fire off an email (matthew@disabilityfoundation.org) and we'll talk about it.
